Description and Uses of Sodium Monochloro Acetate (SMCA)

Sodium Monochloro Acetate (SMCA), the sodium salt of Monochloroacetic acid), is derived from neutralization of Monochloroacetic Acid. The chemical formula of SMCA is C2H2ClNaO2. Also referred to as Sodium 2-chloroacetate and Sodium Chloroacetate, it is a white-colored free-flowing powder which is soluble in water. It is hygroscopic, toxic, and corrosive. SMCA possesses a wide range of applications in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and personal & skin care products
